Situation: teacher has provided 5 weeks notice on assignment and has outlined it in course description penalties for lateness of assignment. on a weekely basis the teacher reminds the students of the assignment and deadline. The morning the assignment is due the teacher announces that the assignmnet is due at 9am this morning. A student freaks out that they have not completed it and will not have it done in time due to her personal reasons. The teacher states that there is a deadline and unfortunatley you will be graded according to the rules stated in the course outline. The student becomes irate and leaves the class room.
The student comes back and asks to speak to the teacher in the hallway. Teacher states to the student that we had talked about this assignment for the past 5 weeks and according to the course outline that there will be penalties for tardiness of the assignment. The students states that I have no right to talk to them anymore or to put due dates on assignments. I tell the student that it is clearly stated in the course outline and the student can take this up with the chair of the department and if they choose not to talk to me I cannot control it and that is their right. Student comes back into the classroom and the class continues without interuption student never completes assignment and hands it in and is given a 0% on it.

When watching this video all I could think about is technology and how dependant we have all become on it and how better our learning is when current technology is applied. I also could not believe how much students enjoyed learning about topics and researching online without guidance from a instructor. I was also amazed on how much grades improved when the students used the internet and also how the students overcame language barriers to answer questions online. I really need to take the intro to tech course as I currently feel like I am in the stone age when it comes to modern day technology.
